Cobalt swallowed the rest of the scraps before leaping haphazardly down from the waste bin. Aside from the scent of garbage, the strong scent of another stray very nearby hit his senses. "I can. They're close by too," His muzzle stiffened, the thought of an unknown presence deterring him. Cobalt followed suit, however approached to the source of the smell more slowly and cautiously.

[Darkfur]

(Dostluk, have you created a biography? We can't tell much about your character if we don't know their name or personality, history etc, and it is required to join in e.o)

Rusty looks behind her, seeing Cobalt follow. She was unsure why he was so cautious, mabye it was just a habit of his. The scent trail leads into a house. "I think the stray is in here." She calls back to Cobalt. Rusty soon pads around the house checking for any holes where the stray might be. She was unsure how big this stray was and if they were fairly aggressive. This made the female dog slightly more cautious.

Edit- THis is on the first post.

1. Contact Silvie telling her you're going to join in with the roleplay.
2. Go to the 'Random Roleplay Bios' subforum and create a dog character (that follows the rules) and a biography for him/her; make sure it includes the fact that it's for the Stray Dog Roleplay in the title.
3. Make a first roleplaying post (perhaps with a little '()' message to tell the others you've joined in), starting off your new life here, leaving the location of your history; for example, if your charrie once lived in a home, you could RP leaving it. And then you should be all set, with your name as a current RPer here on the first post! ^^

Lydda curls up tighter inside the box in the alleyway behind the house. Smelling the two other strays getting ever closer, she shuts her eyes tight, prepared for another fight...

[Atropine]

Cobalt halts as he starts seeing the houses through the darkness. He wasn't too keen on this idea anymore, now that the houses loomed over him. However, the thought of another stray inhabiting this place intrigued him too much - resuming to a trot, Cobalt followed Rusty to the back of some houses where the humans were fast asleep. His large build caused him difficulty to fit through the crevices in fences; he wasn't very nimble on his feet.

[Darkfur]

Rusty had realised the large differences of build each of them had. Rusty could tell that Cobalt would win in a fight, he also suited the outdoors much better than her. However she knew herself that her size in general, her long slim body and large long legs helped her be fast and nimble. From what she could remember being told, her ancestors used to hunt, so speed was precious.
After ducking under a small amount of overhanging rubbish Rusty approaches a box. This must be where the fella is hiding. She thinks. The dog peers over the box, seeing a young dog inside from what she could tell this stray looked like a collie and siberian mix. "Hi there." She says to them, their eyes were sealed shut. Rusty could see her fur was almost stuck straight up. "You okay?"

Arkien's keen ears were straining hard. Too long had he spent by himself, his short fur made him shiver as the fog seemed to press in on him. He shook himself and moved on, putting his noes to the ground hoping to scent some kind of food, somewhere. He huffed out a breath, the prospect of going another night without food did not intrigue him, but it was late now and sleep clung to his eyes. He padded to the nearest houses and looked around for a place to rest. Soon he found a niche just barley big enough to hold his large frame. Settling down he didn't immediately fall asleep but spent the time looking out at the town that he could see from his shelter.

Lev's tirless energy was beginning to falter. Her road-weary legs have travelled along the gritty track for two days now, this being the end of the second. As she trots along the road's shoulder Lev's ears strain to catch the distant rumble of any approaching cars that could clip her skinny frame. But the road was silent tonight. Lev grudingly trotted along in scilence, her long pink tounge the only sound as it panted in exaustion.

Lev raises her young and weary head, looking up at the cloud-filled gray sky in scilence. She then continues along the shoulder.
"Rain tonight." She confirmed to herself, scenting the heavy air briefly. Other curious smells reach her nose, one being the smell of rotting wood. The other was of garbage and scrap. Lev shook her head, her large ears flapping loudly as she considered. Shivering briefly in her short brown fur Lev turns off the shoulder and cuts across the damp grass towards a ring of dreary rundown buildings.

Lydda opens her eyes a crack, smelling a dog...she sees the large, gray dog from before standing over her and fears the worst. The rain seems to die down a little, and, aware of yet more strays around, she winces and whimpers a bit.
"Uh...c-could be b-better," the young mix whispers, her ears flattened as she cowers in the box on her back, waiting...

[Darkfur]

Rusty raised her eyebrows. Listening to the stray stutter some words out. Clearly realising that this stray must be half scared to death. Not really knowing what. "Whats the matter, its like you've just seen a ghost." She chuckled, sitting down her tail slightly wagging. Excited to meet this new stray "The name's Rusty. How 'bout you?" She questions.

[Silvie]

Lydda laughs the tiniest bit, and, feeling a bit more at ease, she decides to speak.
"Er...I'm Lydda. M-most skittish stray in the village, I g-guess," she stammers again with a little smile. "R-Rusty? Nice name." She lifts her head a bit, feeling more confident that this gentle giant would not hurt her.

Arkien huddled in his hole. Tired and shivering, his fur was not very long and the stone in which he hide was trapping in any cold it found. He sighed and huddled closer, closing his eyes. He thought he heard talking but was to weary to walk out and see who it was.

The long, wet grass of the road's ditch dampened Lev's short fur. She lightly hops the watery dip of the ditch and slows her pace to a crawl. When she reaches the top she peers over the lip. Her pink nose, tickled by wild grasses sniffs at the air of the small dingy town, taking in many scents. Of the most interesting to Lev were the multiple scents of dog. She was not alone in this village.

Lev stands stock still and listens. Her brown fur blends nicely with the tall grasses of her hiding place at the roadside. Her ears, large like a rabbits scope the area.
She hears rats, scuffling amongst old garbage cans and rotting wooden crates.
The constant rumble of some far-away machinery.
The aged foundations of several buildings creaking in the heavy, dampened wind.

Lev licks her lips, satisfied with the analysis. She crept out of the ditch with her belly low to the ground. After a quick glance around her and over her shoulder Lev trots quickly to the shadowy unkept back wall of the nearest building. With her side brushing the dark bricks she pads slowly to the end of the wall and peers around the corner.

[Darkfur]

Rusty smiles gently her eyes are like that of a calm sea afternoon, Bluey-green. "Nice to meet you Lydda. I doubt your the most skittish stray in the town." She replies. Shaking her fur looking around. "You seen many other strays lately. I've smelled a lot now quite recently."

[Atropine]

Cobalt came to a stop as he heard Rusty having a conversation with what must be the other stray. Sitting on his haunches, he waited uncomfortably, small rumours of the two dogs' conversation drifting through the air. It seemed that Rusty was making progress - no fights had broken out, and from what he could see the two were getting on well. Still, he remained suspicious. Edging a little forwards, Cobalt tried to peer into the cardboard box in which the other stray resided, however the darkness blocked his view.

Lydda straightens up a bit more, so that she is laying on her side rather than on her back.
"I have been smelling a lot of strays lately too, though you are the first one I've actually seen," she replies, her steady voice returning. As she speaks, she seems to be staring off into space, as though she were regretting something in the cold, humid world around them.

Lev's brown eyes are wide as she looks down through the darkness of the alleyway before her. What she sees and scents makes her brown eyes widen in a jolt of fear and curiousity.

At the opposite end of the narrow space between the two buildings sat a large gray dog. Beside him stood a tall short-haired chestnut. Both thier backs were turned to Lev and they appeared to be together without conflict. She extends her head further around the corner and sniffs the air eagerly.
"Two males and... another?" she whispers to herself. Focusing on her acute hearing Lev strains to catch the faint sounds of a large animal shifting on the grit. A feminine whimper reaches her ears. "Definitely a female; thats three."

Lev smiles to herself. It appears she is not alone in this sad little village after all. Lev flexes her front toes as she contemplates this thought. Her untrimmed claws grate loudly against the gritty gravel of the alley. Lev cringes in alarm at the startling sound. Her short fur spikes along her spine as she hides hereslf behind the back wall of the building, her tail pressed between her legs.

[Silvie]

Lydda, finishing her trailing explanation, turns her head, alarmed, at the odd scratching sound that had rung through the twinkling rain. Feeling slightly less shy, she straightens her flattened ears and peers into the strained darkness, her bright blue eyes shining in the gentle moonlight.
Another dog..? she thinks, catching the scent of a foreigner drifting through the humid air. Although she wasn't feeling so scared anymore, she was still wary..

Lydda was standing on a patch of dirt in the moonless night, by the haunted forest...Dogs stalked her in the shadows, growling their warnings...Then, in a flash of bristling fur and shining teeth, the young, lithe mix disappears under a writhing pile of bodies...

Lydda shakes her head quickly, coming out of her grisly memory and returning to the present. Trying to release the terrible grip of her hidden fears, which were quickly returning, she focuses again on the looming presence of a stranger in the darkness.

[Darkfur]

Rusty quickly whips her head around to the sound of the noise. She growls like a rusted grate her eyes alight a stormy greenish grey. "Who is there?" She says, sounding reletivly calm. Scanning the alleyway, as an irish wolfhound would do. Soon relaxing her posture, not to much though. She shakes her fur padding into the darkness of the alley though stopping before fully entering. "No need to hide." Rusty replies wondering if it was just a raven screwing about with her and Lydda. Her legs tense, her canines slightly showing. Rather a defensive posture more than offensive.

[Atropine]

The disturbance made Cobalt tense, and he turned to the direction of the sound, gums pulled back into a sort of grimace. Rising steadily, his chocolate brown muzzle probed the air, trying to decipher the scent of whatever had made the sound. He expected it to be a rogue fox, scavenging the bins in search for a meal, or perhaps a raccoon. Either way, he was still suspicious.

Arkien's ears perked as the voices grew louder, squeezing his way out of his hole he moved to the voices, peeking his head around the corner to look. He saw several other dogs, of varying breeds. Maybe he wasn't as alone as he had originally thought.

Lydda stands up and hops out of the box, tensing as she feels more suspicious of what laid before them in the darkness. Moving up beside Rusty (still feeling rather uncomfortable about the other dog, who had not greeted her), she stares into the stony dark, squinting and sniffing eagerly as she tries to decipher what had made such a sound.
